Why use video resources?

No matter how enigmatic a lecturer, it is difficult to engage a theater full of students for 90 minutes, purely by talking at them. Whether you are a technological geek or completely unfamiliar there are plenty of ways to incorporate technology into teaching in order to make lectures a more engaging and beneficial experience for students.

Short Film

A short film is any film not long enough to be considered a feature film.

Although no consensus exists as to where that boundary is drawn, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits".

Feature Film

A feature film is a film with a running time long enough to be considered the principal or sole film to fill a program.

The notion of how long this should be varies according to time and place. According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, American Film Institute, and British Film Institute, a feature film runs for 40 minutes or longer.

Imagine explaining your project to a friend.

What would you say? What might they ask you? And how would you show them you’re serious, prepared, and capable of doing a great job? Your fundraising video is your chance to tell people that story: who you are, what you want to make, and why. A lot of your story can be conveyed with words, but there’s more to a good project page than text. Images and video are a huge help for bringing people inside your story. Make a compelling video. It’s the best way to introduce yourself, and to give people a closer look at what you’re working on.

Video is the most effective communication tool available to high school athletes seeking an athletic scholarship.

There are 23 NCAA-sanctioned sports at over 1,000 member institutions involving over 400,000 student-athletes. You will need something to set you apart and "highlight" your skills, in whichever sport it may be, and that something is a highlights reel.

Documentary

Documentaries bring viewers into new worlds and experiences...

...through the presentation of factual information about real people, places, and events, generally -- but not always -- portrayed through the use of actual images and artifacts. But factuality alone does not define documentary films; it's what the filmmaker does with those factual elements, weaving them into an overall narrative that strives to be as compelling as it is truthful and is often greater than the sum of its parts.
